Teammate Kristiane Lim grabs 3rd spot.
Dalaguete, Cebu - A rough swim and a bit of dizziness plus legs cramps on the bike leg did not stop Team Parklane's Ralph Arche from snaring the overall win with a come from behind performance during last Sunday's leg 2 of the Cebu Loves Tri Team Championships held at the beautiful municipality of Dalaguete, Cebu. Ralph, true to his words during the race's press conference that his team will do their best to slug it out with other elite triathletes and close the gap in the Team points competition, surged ahead in the 3rd lap of the run leg to finish with a total time of 2:20:16 for the Standard Distance. Rounding out the Overall winners podium are Earl Jason Bilangdal from team Shangri-La Mactan (2:20:41) who finished a close 2nd, and Team Parklane's Kristiane Lim finished 3rd with a time of 2:21:38.
A strong finish by Team Parklane will surely minimize the gap in the team competition between Team Parklane and Leg 1 Leaders Team Fish 18.
During interview, Ralph Arche was ecstatic about his win over a strong field of triathletes considering that he "did not expect to win", though he said he did not give up even if he was in the chase group trying to close down the gaps to the 3 early breakaway leaders. When asked for his opinion and thoughts, Arche's teammate Kristiane Lim said that their team's performance was definitely "a morale booster for the upcoming races" & that their win "all came down to meticulous preparation."
